Get your track out of OsmAnd

Get your track out of OsmAndOsmAnd, a map app for Android and iPhone, records tracks with its Trip Recording plugin and shares them as GPX, which Seamark reads directly. OsmAnd warns that iOS can pause apps in the background, which can interrupt a recording.

Before you sail, go to Menu > Plugins and enable Trip Recording.

Start recording with the Distance/Start-Stop widget, or from Menu > My Places > Tracks.

When you arrive, go to Menu > My Places > Tracks and stop and save the recording in the Currently recording track field.

In Menu > My Places > Tracks, open the track’s menu: on Android tap the three-dot menu in the track’s field, on an iPhone long-tap the track.

Tap Share.

Send the GPX file to yourself by mail, or save it to Files or a cloud drive.

With the file in hand, open the leg in Seamark and choose Upload GPX track. Seamark drops the GPS glitches, works out the distance, times, speeds and night hours, and draws the track on the chart.Menu and button names are quoted as the vendor's own documentation writes them, in English.
